EU grants available in Romania for energy efficiency and green energy

EU grants are available in Romania to increase the production of energy from less exploited renewable resources like biomass, biogas, geothermal, etc.

Companies that produce energy to sell it could get grants for construction and modernization of energy production capacities (electric and thermal energy) from biomass and biogas; construction and modernization of thermal energy production capacities using geothermal energy (maximum grant value can be of 15.000.000 EUR).

Large industrial energy consumers, with energy consumption of more than 200 tep/year and that can prove a thermal energy need for industrial processes of minimum 4.000 hours/year could get grants for building / modernizing high efficiency CHP stations of max. 8MWe that use natural gas or biomass, or residual gases from industrial processes.

Large industrial energy consumers, with energy consumption of more than 1.000 tep/year could get grants for: purchase of equipments/installations for monitoring the energy consumption; monitoring systems, data collecting systems, communication systems (maximum grant value can be of 6.000.000 EUR).
